September 2022

23/09/2022

September is one of my favourite months. It used to be because of all the GAA finals but now I enjoy the change of pace from the busy and fun summer back to routine which brings with it lots of fresh ideas, new energy and the possibility of change.

Back to School

We hope the return to school has gone well for everyone. It can be a hard time for many people but as the month goes along usually things settle down and everyone finds their way. We look forward to seeing you back in the clinic to hear your stories about returning to school. We hope to see more new faces in our teen exercise classes too. This gives you the chance to meet other young people going through exercise therapy too.

Busy & Exciting Times

September is a very busy month for us at McGowan Physio. Our superstar receptionist, Niamh O’Flaherty, is into her last few weeks of marathon training. Niamh will be heading over to London soon to run the London Marathon. Make sure to wish her well if you see her in clinic ahead of the event.

Garett and I will be heading over to Barcelona at the end of the month for 6 days of further scoliosis training. We will be completing the Barcelona Schroth method training under Mr Manual Rigo. Mr Rigo is the genius who designs and creates the Rigo Cheneau brace that a lot of our teens with scoliosis wear. We hope to improve our own education and understanding of scoliosis so we can improve the standard of conservative scoliosis care in Dublin and in Ireland.

As September comes towards its end it also has me starting to reflect on what has been an incredible first year at McGowan Physio. October is our Birthday month and it is hard to believe that it is only a few weeks away! We would love to hear from you about your experiences at McGowan Physio so far and if there is anything you wish the clinic had to offer.
